Crewe Alexandra have completed the loan signing of Tottenham Hotspur striker Lee Barnard.
The League One club have spent several weeks trying to conclude a deal for Barnard, who was also wanted by Motherwell.
Barnard, who has moved to Gresty Road until January, missed most of last season with an ankle injury and has been allowed out on loan by Martin Jol to boost his first-team experience.
A minor injury has held up his switch to Crewe, but he could be available for Saturday's game at Swindon Town.
Crewe have been anxious to sign a new striker after selling Luke Varney to Charlton Athletic and losing Nicky Maynard to injury.
Technical director Dario Gradi has also hinted the club could bring in another forward on a permanent basis before Friday's transfer deadline.
