Leicester have confirmed that they are in negotiations with Andy Johnson to terminate his contract.
The 32-year-old arrived at Leicester last summer, on a free transfer from West Brom, but he has not featured since Nigel Worthington assumed control of team affairs in a caretaker capacity.
Johnson made 22 appearances for City in total, with his one goal for the club coming against Coventry back in February.
"The football club and Andy Johnson's representatives are currently in talks to come to a mutual agreement concerning his departure," read a club statement.
Meanwhile, Tottenham winger Mark Yeates has completed his loan spell at Leicester and returned to North London.
Yeates made nine appearances during his time with the Championship strugglers and scored one goal.
