Tottenham boss Martin Jol says he was right to let Fredi Kanoute leave the club as he prepares to come face-to-face with him in the Uefa Cup this week.
Jol allowed Kanoute to leave White Hart Lane for Sevilla 18 months ago and the Mali international has been a revelation at the Spanish club.
Spurs meet Sevilla in the quarter-finals of the Uefa Cup on Thursday and Jol has no regrets about selling the former West Ham man.
"Fredi is a very talented player - you can learn all the time and he's an example," said Jol.
"It's impossible to get him back because our philosophy is different. We would like to have younger players and develop them.
"He was 29, we had a very good price for him. You only have to look at his record over here with West Ham and Spurs.
"Before I was here, he scored maybe eight or nine or 10 goals."
