Mido's Chelsea wish

Mido is hoping Tottenham Hotspur can fix up a Carling Cup final date with Chelsea.

Spurs squeezed into the semi-finals of the competition when Jermain Defoe's extra-time goal saw off plucky Southend United on Wednesday.

Waiting in the last four are Chelsea, Wycombe Wanderers and potentially North London rivals Arsenal, who have yet to play their quarter-final tie with Liverpool.

Egyptian striker Mido is keen to avoid a meeting with Chelsea in the semi-finals as he wants to face the Premiership champions in the final.

"I don't mind who we play in the next round, but I wish to play Chelsea in the final," said Mido.

"They're a great team with a lot of quality, but we're not scared of anyone.

"We were very disappointed last year about the result in Grimsby and the fact we couldn't make it through.

"Now we're in the semi-final and we're just waiting for our next game.

"In the draw, we'll see who we play, and hopefully we can play in the final and win this cup."
