Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly taking a close interest in Troyes starlet Blaise Matuidi.
The highly-rated midfielder attracted interest from Charlton in the January transfer window but reports now indicate that Spurs boss Martin Jol had a bid of £4.9 million knocked back by the French club over the summer.
The French Under-21 international has emerged as one of the brightest prospects in Ligue 1 and Troyes were unwilling to let him join Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Dorian Dervitte in leaving France for White Hart Lane.
However Matuidi's agent, Etienne Mendy, claims the North Londoners are ready to reignite their interest and compete with a number of unnamed suitors for the star's signature.
"It's true Spurs wanted Blaise," Mendy told the News of the World.
"They're continuing to follow him but there are other clubs interested."
