Edgar Davis has told his young Tottenham team-mates that they need to 'grow up very quickly' after the London club's poor start to the season.
In their opening three games Martin Jol's men have lost to Bolton and Everton, as well as beating Sheffield United, and have a fight on their hands to emulate last season's fifth placed finish.
Now Davids has called on the club's young charges to step up to the plate to help reverse the worrying turn of form at White Hart Lane.
"We have to help each other in this situation and we have to grow up very quickly," said Davids in The Times.
"It is not a disaster because we have only played three matches, but we do need to start putting on more of a show.
"Last year was difficult, but it has been even harder this season because opponents see us as a big scalp for them and they know all about our strengths."
