Lillestrom have confirmed that there will be Premiership representatives in attendance for their game at the weekend against Newcastle in the InterToto Cup, with Robert Koren the subject of their observations.
The Slovenia international is widely regarded to be one of the top players currently playing in Norway and his influential promptings have not gone unnoticed elsewhere.
Lillestrom director Frank Groenlund has now confirmed that Newcastle are long-term suitors of the player, with Tottenham and Watford also named as clubs who will send scouts over at the weekend.
"There will be representatives from Germany, the Netherlands, Tottenham and Watford will be here and Newcastle have watched him for a long time," confirmed Groenlund to Nettavisen.
Koren's existing contract expires at the end of the year and while accepting that he has attracted interest, the 25-year-old is loath to speculate on whether he will be offered opportunity to ply his trade on a bigger stage.
"I am permitted to sign a pre-option since I have less than six months remaining on my contract," Koren noted.
"Maybe I have done that, maybe I have not."
