Gabri unsure of Prem switch

Barcelona ace Gabri is doubtful about moving to the Premiership.

Gabri is doubtful about moving to The Premiership because he does not want to force his family to move abroad, despite interest from several English clubs .

After announcing that he was quitting Barcelona following seven years in the first team, the utility player has been linked with a move to Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur and was the subject of a bid from West Ham United in the winter transfer window.

The player's agent, Josep Maria Orobitg, confirmed recently that the most lucrative offer had come from a London club, but Gabri is tempted by a switch across his native city to Espanyol.

"There a lot of teams interested in me and we are talking about it," Gabri told COM Radio. "We are looking at the best option.

"I have to decide where I would like to go and live and whether I want to move abroad or stay here. I will make the decision with my family.

"When I was at Barca, I was always said that when I left I would like to play in a different league and try something new, but after the birth of my son, my mentality has changed.

"There are times when I think it would be good to move as near as possible and Espanyol is a possibility, but I have not decided anything yet."
