Tottenham have had a £3.5m bid for West Brom defender Curtis Davies turned down by Baggies boss Bryan Robson.

In a bid to get back to Premiership football on the first attempt, Robson is determined to keep his squad together and clearly sees the England Under-21 international playing a pivotal role next season.

If Spurs boss Martin Jol was to capture the young defender, how does he compare to current defenders Michael Dawson and Ledley King?

Davies has completed more tackles, blocks and interceptions than Dawson and King. However, his passing accuracy is a great deal lower than the Spurs pair.

Unbelievably, the West Brom defender has not been booked all season, which is an impressive record, particularly when comparing him to the likes of Dawson who has received four yellow and two red cards.
