Swedish winger Christian Wilhelmsson has revealed Tottenham are lining up a move for him.
The Anderlecht star has been a long-term transfer target for Spurs, but no deal has ever materialised.
Wilhelmsson, who is a target for several clubs including Paris Saint Germain and Fiorentina, admitted he could have joined Tottenham last January only for Anderlecht to block his sale.
The 26-year-old looks set to leave Anderlecht this summer and he admits he would be keen on a switch to White Hart Lane.
"I could have signed for Tottenham in January as they wanted me badly but Anderlecht refused to let me go and I was gutted," Wilhelmsson told the News of the World.
"I know Tottenham are following me and still want me for next season.
"It would give me great joy to go there."
Meanwhile, Mido has played down reports he could snub a permanent move to White Hart Lane.
The Egyptian's agent claimed Tottenham were facing a fight to make Mido's loan move from Roma permanent with a number of other clubs waiting in the wings to sign the striker.
Mido insists he is happy at Tottenham and plans to stay at the club.
"I am very happy here and I know Spurs want me to stay," said Mido.
"There have been talks with Roma and now we just have to finish the deal.
"I am settled here. I am very pleased with the club, the stadium, fans and the city."
