Tottenham defender Nourredine Naybet is coming out of international retirement and will lead Morocco at the forthcoming African Cup of Nations.
The 35-year-old quit the international scene back in August in order to concentrate his efforts on his club career at Spurs.
His decision was facilitated by a number of disagreements with then-coach Ezaki Badou, but he has been persuaded to reconsider by new boss Philippe Troussier.
The Frenchman replaced Badou after his failure to guide Morocco to next year's World Cup finals and believes Naybet will bring much-needed experience to his side.
"This team needs players with experience like Naybet at this time," stated Troussier.
The news means Spurs will have to make do without the veteran stopper from late January when the African showpiece kicks off in Egypt.
