Wayne Routledge is ready to pep up Tottenham Hotspur's push for Europe by returning from injury next week.

The speedy winger broke a bone in his foot on the opening day of the season and has been on the sidelines since that unfortunate afternoon at Portsmouth in August.

Routledge has worked hard on his fitness and is set to be rewarded with a recall next week.

"Wayne is back in training and maybe he's in contention to be selected next week," said Spurs chief Martin Jol.

Coach Chris Hughton added on the club's website: "Wayne has been out for a long time, but he's been able to work hard and we would anticipate that, even though he's only just back in training, he's a fit lad and it won't take him too long to be back in contention for games.

"That's great news for us."

Spurs head into Saturday's clash with West Ham United on the back of a three-game winless run and the return of Routledge next week could boost Jol's attacking options.
