Tottenham winger Wayne Routledge could face an even longer spell on the sidelines.

Routledge sustained a foot stress fracture in the win over Middlesbrough in August.

The former Crystal Palace star was only expected to be out of action for two months, but he is struggling to recover from the injury.

Spurs boss Martin Jol fears Routledge could be sidelined for another two months or even the remainder of the season.

"Wayne is still out with his foot injury and it could take another couple of months," Jol told the club's official website.

"It's a difficult injury - players have been out for a season with the same problem. It depends on how quickly it heals."
