England keeper Paul Robinson has pledged his future to Tottenham by signing a seven-year contract.

The 25-year-old settled into life at White Hart Lane straight away, following his move from Leeds, and made a positive impression on coach Martin Jol.

Spurs are looking to build for the future and have made tying Robinson to a long term contract one of their top summer priorities.

The deal was agreed prior to Robinson heading for his summer break and the minor details have now been ironed out.

The seven-year contract was put before Robinson on Thursday and the keeper had no hesitation in signing on the dotted line.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my first year here and the chairman showed his commitment to me by signing me in the first place and by signing this new deal, I'm repaying that faith," he said.

"There has never been any doubt on my part that this is where I want to be."
