Tottenham coach Martin Jol wants to bring in a new David Ginola or Chris Waddle to appease the club's fans.

The Spurs faithful, almost more than any in England, demand their team play good football and for this they need an influential playmaker.

Jol admits his side is currently lacking that creative spark and he has promised to put this right when he gets the chance to buy.

"The fans are not satisfied because they want to see a player like Ginola or Waddle and we don't have them," said Jol.

"I can see that and I'd love one of them in my team.

"We don't have the best service to our top strikers but hopefully we can put that right by buying the right player in January.

"In the past this club has bought a lot of players for a lot of money who haven't done the business and I won't rest until we have a good team."

It is expected that Spurs will make moves for Andy Reid of Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace's Wayne Routledge in January, and both of those players could provide the Ginola/Waddle-esque play that Jol is looking for.
