Barcelona star Luis Enrique is the latest big name to be linked with a move to new-look Tottenham.

The former Spanish international, an ex-captain of Barca, is leaving Camp Nou and had been expected to head for Qatar for a lucrative pay-day in the up-and-coming league.

However, Catalan newspaper reports claim Enrique has also been contacted by Spurs with a view to making a surprise move to North London.

Jacques Santini is certainly targeting Holland international Edgar Davids and has compiled a list of top quality reinforcements who could be part of his White Hart Lane revolution.

At 34, the attacking midfielder is in the twilight of career but he is used to a challenge. He won over the Barca supporters despite previously spending five years with fierce rivals Real Madrid.

UEFA Champions League finalists Monaco and Sporting Gijon are also rumoured to be tracking Enrique.

Meanwhile, Jerome Leroy, another midfielder to be linked with a move to White Hart Lane recently, is reportedly close to accepting a move to Lens.

The 29-year-old is leaving Guingamp and could be persuaded to remain in France.
