TOTTENHAM are in advanced talks with Portuguese striker Helder Postiga over a move to White Hart Lane.

As previously revealed by planetfootball.com, the young attacker was a Spurs fan during his childhood, and the proposed move would be a dream come true for the FC Porto star.

Spurs have kept tabs on the player since last year, and Glenn Hoddle is making progress in his bid to inject fresh blood into his strikeforce.

Oporto sources have revealed that Postiga has already travelled to London for talks, and is due to undergo a medical in the English capital if the negotiations progress smoothly.

The fiery front-man missed the Uefa Cup final against Celtic through suspension but was a driving force behind Jose Mourinho's side's charge towards Seville.

Agent Pedro Romao told planetfootball that his client was always a Spurs follower.

"When he was 10 his dream was to play for Tottenham," Romao admitted.

"He used to love watching Spurs."

A fee in the region of ‚é¼12 million (£8.3 million) is believed to have been agreed between the two clubs, and Spurs have confirmed they are in advanced negotiations with the talented 20-year-old.

Much wrangling has taken place recently after both parties were forced to compromise on their valuations of the striker, who is likely to be offered a five-year contract by Hoddle.
