TOTTENHAM defender Stephen Carr is ready to get his international career back on track after overcoming his long-term injury problems.
The highly-rated full back has returned to full fitness after missing all of last season with a serious knee injury.
Carr is expected to add to his 18 caps for his country when Republic of Ireland take on Scotland in a friendly on Wednesday night.
The Dublin-born defender last played for his country in the World Cup qualifier against Estonia in June 2001.
Injury prevented him from making Ireland's World Cup squad, but Carr is ready to put his problems behind him and become a key figure for Brian Kerr's side.
"What happened last year is gone," said Carr. "The injury is behind me and I'm hungrier for success.
"But the injury has helped me as a person and other things happened in my life which put it into perspective."
