TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR are reportedly interested in signing much sought-after Italian defender Nicola Legrottaglie of Chievo.
The stopper, who was recently called into Giovanni Trapattoni's Italian national squad, was the subject of intense transfer speculation during the January transfer window, with Serie A giants Roma just missing out on landing the 26-year-old.
Milan were also interested in prising away The Flying Donkey's rock at the rearguard and Spurs are reportedly willing to match any offer for the star and guarantee Legrottaglie first-team football.
However, Roma president Franco Sensi is confident the Giallorossi will land their man in the summer as the defender looks set to remain in his homeland.
