SPURS have been hit by another injury to defender Ben Thatcher who pulled up before the half hour with a groin strain in the friendly with Watford.

Stephen Carr was also substituted in the 2-2 draw against Feyenoord following a running battle with Leonardo, although the promising defender is still not match fit.

This leaves Glenn Hoddle with something of a predicament going into the season with two of his top full backs both struggling to make the start of The Premiership, while Ledley King, Anthony Gardner and Dean Richards are also in the treatment room.

Speaking about Thatcher, Hoddle said: "It's difficult.

"Ben pulled his groin chasing a ball in the first half.

"We'll have to see how it is in the next couple of days, but it's a worry.

"What hurst us is that these injuries are all to players in the same position."
