DANISH defender Martin Laursen is the latest player being linked with a move to Tottenham, although George Graham`s priority is a new striker.

The Hellas Verona ace has been impressive this term, making 11 appearances in all, and scoring once. Since moving from Silkeborg, after only 12 starts for the Danes, he has forced his way into the reckoning at Verona.

At 22, Laursen is starting to adapt to life in Serie A, and he played his part in the Serie B championship triumph last season. Sources in Italy are claiming that George Graham has taken notice of the centre back.

The long-term future of Sol Campbell remains in doubt, and it is inevitable that Spurs will be keeping tabs on players in his position. The North Londoners have already signed young Anthony Gardner from Port Vale, a player being dubbed the `new Campbell` in the Potteries.

An English newspaper report has stated that Ole Martin Aarst is a £2.5 million target for Spurs. Leeds have been monitoring the form of one of Europe`s top goalscorers this season, with 23 goals for Gent under his belt, but Graham may compete with David O`Leary once again, should he leave Belgium in the summer.

Bristol Rovers have issued a hands-off warning over Jason Roberts, a confirmed Spurs target, although the Premiership side have not made any offer for the ex-Wolves man.

"He is not for sale," confirmed a Rovers spokesman. "£3 million would not buy Jason`s left leg."

Graham, whilst admitting an interest in Sergei Rebrov, also claims he was watching Rosenborg on Tuesday night. John Carew or left back Andre Bergdolmo could be options.

"I also checked on Rosenborg because they do supply a lot of players for the English game," said the White Hart Lane boss.
