East closing in on return

Portsmouth defender has Danny East made his long-awaited comeback from injury with a run-out for the reserves.

The former Hull full-back has yet to make a Pompey appearance this season due to a long-term groin problem. But East got half an hour under his belt as Portsmouth's second string drew 2-2 with Newport. Afterwards he tweeted: "Was great to get back on the field today! It's been hard times but was a great feeling to be back in action." Adam Webster, who has been sidelined since early October with a knee injury, played the entire second half after replacing fellow defender Joe Devera, who also played 45 minutes to prove his fitness after a hamstring problem.
