Teenage midfielder Jed Wallace has extended his stay at Portmouth after being handed a new one-year contract by the club.

The 19-year-old's current deal was due to expire at the end of the current campaign. Wallace, who has scored six goals in 22 appearances for Pompey this term, has been linked with a move to Brighton over the summer. Manager Guy Whittingham told the club website: "We've taken up the option of an extra year and it's great to have Jed here for at least another season. "However, he's an important player for us and we'll be looking to negotiate a longer deal in due course."
