Benjani has told Sky Sports his delight at moving back to South Africa after his career in England came to an end.

The 34-year-old has joined Supersport United on a one-year deal after his contract with Portsmouth came to an end.

It sees the Zimbabwe international returning to South Africa, where he began his career with Jomo Cosmos before he moved to Europe, with Grasshoppers and then Auxerre.

After leaving France he moved to England with Portsmouth, Manchester City, Sunderland and Blackburn before returning to Fratton Park last year.

"I had great years in English football, I am happy to have played in the Premier League scoring goals against top teams in the league such as Manchester United for Manchester City," he said.

"I hope to score goals for Supersport United, I learnt my football with Jomo Cosmos in this country and hope to succeed in the club."
