Portsmouth defender Paul Connolly believes the club can challenge at the top of League One this season.
The 28-year-old has impressed in the heart of defence since signing for the club the day before the start of the season.
And he has seen enough in the squad to think a promotion challenge is a possibility.
"The way we have gelled is incredible and at Colchester we looked like a team that had played together for months," he told the club's official website.
"At times I stood at the back watching the way we moved the ball and the time we had on it. I was just admiring it all.
"It's not out of the question for us to challenge at the top end of the table."
