Notts County midfielder Gavin Mahon has agreed a new one-year deal with the club, much to the delight of manager Keith Curle.
Mahon's future at Meadow Lane has been in serious doubt in recent months but club boss Curle is relieved to have tied down a player who he believes will be crucial to next season's promotion push.
Curle was even forced to leave the former Watford man out of his squad towards the end of last season to avoid triggering a clause in his contract.
"I'm really pleased because Gavin is a good, experienced player," Curle told the Nottingham Post.
"It was a difficult situation for all of us at the end of last season with his contract, but I have to say his professionalism throughout it all was commendable.
"We've got the outcome I wanted now and we can all look forward to the new season."
