Carson keen on Shakers return

Trevor Carson would like to rejoin to Bury next season if Richie Barker's men can preserve their League One status.

Carson returned to parent club Sunderland at the weekend after rounding off a two-month stay with the Shakers by keeping an impressive clean sheet in the 2-0 win over in-form Tranmere. The triumph was Bury's first in 13 attempts - a run that leaves them five points clear of the relegation zone with six games to play - and Carson will be a keen observer during the season run-in. "I'm delighted with the clean sheet and the three points," he told the Bury Times. "But I am disappointed I can't make any further contribution in the next six games, which are massive. "I'll be coming to all the home games and going to a couple of away games in the next few weeks. If we keep showing the attitude we showed against Tranmere we'll be fine." The 24-year-old added: "I want to come back next season, 100 per cent. I have really enjoyed it here, but let's get over the finishing line and stay in this league and hopefully I'll come back because that's what I want."
