Sanchez salutes gutsy Bees

Barnet boss Lawrie Sanchez is pleased with what he describes as a 'six-pointer' after his side defeated Northampton 2-1 at Sixfields.

The recalled Adebayo Akinfenwa gave basement side Town the interval lead but Mark Byrne levelled shortly after the restart before Ricky Holmes hit the winner with his eighth goal of the campaign. Sanchez said: "As pleased as I was with the performance at Accrington, I thought this was a better one even though we didn't play as well football-wise. "This was a step up because it was a six-point game, that's three wins on the spin and I don't know when a Barnet side did that before. "This win puts Northampton eight points behind us and I can't see them winning three games more than us to make that up. They're playing well but not getting the results and that can be draining, so we'd like to think that's one team who will finish below us."
