Midfielder Gavin Mahon has signed an extended contract at Notts County to keep him at Meadow Lane until the summer of 2013.
Mahon joined the Magpies at the start of the season on a pay-as-you-play deal until January. After missing the best part of two years due to injury, the 34-year-old has surpassed expectations by starting eight league matches this season. Manager Martin Allen told the club's official website: "I am pleased that Gav has agreed an 18-month deal to play for this club. "He certainly isn't a spring chicken, but he has played an important part in the recipe for our recent success. "He is very well respected in the dressing room, never misses a day's training and is a good guide for all of our players."
