I want to keep Jervis - Di Canio

Swindon boss Paolo Di Canio wants to keep Jake Jervis at the County Ground beyond the single month outlined in his loan deal.

Birmingham forward Jervis scored twice for the Robins at Exeter in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday, and Di Canio has said the youngster's performances, both on and off the pitch, have been encouraging. The Italian is keen to extend the 20-year-old's stay in Wiltshire, but knows the complexities behind such an agreement may prove to be a stumbling block. "Jervis proved on Tuesday that he is a real professional, more mature than his age and so we are going the right way to think about having him remain here," Di Canio told the Swindon Advertiser. "But it is not our decision. The player must decide if he wants to stay or his club might want him to go back. So there are many, many factors. "Obviously if he keeps going like this and scoring goals then yes, I want to keep him."
