Norwegian forward Erik Huseklepp is pessimistic regarding his chances of joining Celtic this summer.
The 26-year-old is keen to secure a switch to Scotland, having tasted relegation out of Serie A with Bari last season.
Stoke City and several Bundesliga clubs are also reported to be keen, but Huseklepp would favour a move to Scotland.
He came close to joining Celtic in January, but the Bhoys could not find the required funds to reach an agreement with SK Brann and he headed to Italy instead.
Neil Lennon has reignited his interest during the current transfer window, but is again facing financial difficulties.
Ambitious
Bari had initially suggested that they would take £1.5million for Huseklepp, but have now increased their asking price to £4million.
Celtic are in no position to spend so much on one player and it appears as though any potential deal remains some way off.
On his future, Huseklepp said in the
Daily Record: "I have to be professional and just prepare as if I'm staying with Bari.
"I will leave my contract details and what happens next with my agent. The trouble is I don't think it will be sorted out quickly.
"I am ambitious and want to play at the highest level. Anything can happen over the next couple of weeks so I am not going to let this bother me."
