Skysports.com understands Portsmouth are closing in on the signing of former Bristol City goalkeeper Stephen Henderson.
Former Republic of Ireland Under 21 international Henderson is available on a free transfer after turning down a new deal at Ashton Gate.
Henderson found himself third choice at Ashton Gate and he has decided to move on in search of regular first-team football.
A number of clubs are believed to have expressed an interest in Henderson after he impressed on loan at Yeovil last season.
Portsmouth boss Steve Cotterill has lined up a move for the 23-year-old as he looks to bring in competition and cover for Jamie Ashdown.
Bristol City will be due compensation from Portsmouth if he does move to Fratton Park as he is under the age of 24.
