Portsmouth's Hermann Hreidarsson is attracting interest in the transfer window, according to his agent.

Pompey defender considering his options

Portsmouth defender Hermann Hreidarsson is the subject of much interest in the transfer window, according to his agent. The veteran Icelander has been unable to gain much first-team football since returning to full fitness in October, having been at Fratton Park since 2007. The 36-year-old still believes he has plenty to offer despite his age, with his agent Olafur Gardarsson stating that the player did not necessarily want to leave Pompey, but had options available to him. He did however refuse to confirm that Rangers were one of the clubs making enquiries, having been strongly linked over the previous week.

Calling

"A couple of clubs from England and Scotland have come calling during the transfer window," said Gardarsson. "I have told them it must be done by the book and they have to speak to the club. "However I cannot confirm or deny one of them is Rangers. In the last two years, both big clubs in Scotland have shown interest. It might be speculation coming from that. "Of course he is not happy at not playing - no professional footballer would be - but he has not asked for anything. He wants to do his part and help Portsmouth get back to where they belong in the Premier League."
