Cotterill wary of asking too much of veteran full-back
Steve Cotterill insists it is still too soon to put Portsmouth defender Hermann Hreidarsson back into the starting line-up.
Hreidarsson is working his way back to full fitness after suffering an Achilles injury in March and he has recently made four substitute appearances for Pompey.
The Championship side are currently without regular left-back Carl Dickinson due to suspension and right-footed centre-half Joel Ward has been deputising.
The veteran Hreidarsson would appear a natural choice to fill in for Dickinson, but Pompey boss Cotterill is wary of asking too much of the Icelandic stopper.
Cotterill told Portsmouth Today: "As it is, he is not quite ready so we'll continue to hold him back a little bit.
"It's great to throw him on late in the match, asking him to run around up front and also giving us the ability of someone who can head it out of our box.
"At the moment, though, he is not ready for a start. Let's not forget, though, Joel has done well there."
