Cardiff midfielder looking to cement place

Solomon Taiwo has expressed his determination to secure a place in the Cardiff team after recovering from injury. The Nigeria-born midfielder was forced to have a hip operation in the summer, which has hampered his pre-season preparations. Taiwo, who was also linked with a move to Norwich last month, is now focused on proving his worth to the Bluebirds. "I've felt demoralised because I haven't been able to train properly yet but I am also fired up inside and hungry to do well for Cardiff City," Taiwo told the South Wales Echo. "I have never been in the situation of not being a first-team regular before. But I am dealing with that and I will come back even stronger for the new season. "I am determined to make the most of my second chance with Cardiff. It's an alien situation for me being out of the team. "That's something I haven't really experienced before."
