Djimi Traore has revealed that he would like to remain at Birmingham after settling in well at St Andrews.
Traore joined Blues on loan from Portsmouth in February and has played a key role in their push for promotion from the Championship.
He is happy at the club and has a good working relationship with Alex McLeish, but is not sure if he will be able to stay.
The Mali international hopes an agreement can be struck for him to continue his career with Birmingham, but for the moment his focus is on Sunday's crucial game with Reading.
Birmingham suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to Preston at the weekend but they will secure automatic promotion to the Premier League if they win their final game of the season at the Madejski Stadium.
"I like it here, the manager trusts me, and I would like to continue here," Traore told skysports.com.
"Hopefully we will have a straight promotion. We missed a good chance over the weekend but we are ready.
"We like to make things difficult but I am sure we will do it and bring this great club into the Premier League.
"I am looking forward to it. I am enjoying myself here, so when you are happy somewhere it is good to stay."
