Ipswich striker Alan Lee is excited about the possible arrival of David Nugent from Portsmouth.
Nugent has not been able to establish himself in the Pompey side this season and Ipswich have agreed a deal to take him on loan.
The former Preston forward is set to decide this week whether to make the switch to Portman Road and Lee is hopeful that he will accept Ipswich's offer.
The signing of Nugent would increase competition for places but Lee insists his main concern is Ipswich's push for promotion.
"We must be pleased to have anyone new who can bring something to the table," Lee told the Evening Star.
"We have one goal at this club. One goal that we are all aiming for. And that is to reach the Premier League.
"There is always competition if you are a football player, and I will welcome David with open arms.
"He is an England player and a class performer."
