Charlton have confirmed Svetoslav Todorov is to miss the rest of the season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament. The former Portsmouth striker, no stranger to injuries, has endured a nightmare start to life at The Valley following a summer switch from Fratton Park. Todorov did the damage in Tuesday night's defeat to Plymouth and also sustained a small fracture within his knee.

The challenge which led to the injury involved Plymouth's Krisztian Timar and went unpunished by the match officials. Todorov is well aware of injury having endured the same scenario at Portsmouth and he is readying himself for the arduous road of rehabilitation ahead. Charlton have confirmed that they are determined to get to the root of the problem and that after surgery, Todorov will definitely miss the rest of the campaign.
