Brezovan would cost Everton £2m

Paul Sturrock admits a £2million offer would see Swindon Town goalkeeper Peter Brezovan join Everton. Brezovan has been training with Everton this week and Sturrock had no qualms in agreeing to the trial spell. The Swindon boss has dismissed claims that the club are touting the Slovakian around in an attempt to bring in money. But Sturrock acknowledged that a bid of £2m would secure a sale and he is confident Robins fans will not be upset by his comments. "It is important that people appreciate Brezovan is a footballer and has an opportunity of a trial with a Premiership team," Sturrock told the Swindon Advertiser. "We might benefit big time with a fee or he might benefit from the experience.

Going nowhere

"Let me put the record straight. Brezovan is going nowhere at this minute in time. "He cannot sign for them until the Premier League windows reopen anyway, so all we are doing is giving them a wee look to see if he is of the standard to be one of their goalkeepers. "The club has not been offering him around. Everton phoned us up asking him for a trial. "If anything is achievable I am not going to cut off my nose to spite my face. If they offer £2million for him I am afraid to say Brez will be an Everton footballer. "It does not take a rocket scientist to say that and I don't think I am upsetting any fans by saying that if we get the value we believe in him."
