Real Mallorca winger Jonas Gutierrez has admitted he would be tempted by a move to Portsmouth.
The Argentine declared earlier this week that he was not paying much attention to reports linking him with a move to the Premier League club.
But Gutierrez now insists Pompey have firmed up their interest and he is hopeful a deal can be reached.
"The offer has arrived and now I am studying this subject," he told the Spanish press.
"If it was positive for all parties we would close the accord, because footballers have short careers and it is important to make the right decisions.
"But if the transfer is not possible I would stay in Mallorca without problems because I am a professional."
Mallorca coach Gregorio Manzano has once again made it clear he wishes to keep Gutierrez, saying: "Jonas is a key man in our team and we not are prepared to sell."
A move to Portsmouth would also be complicated by Gutierrez's contractual situation, as he is co-owned by Mallorca and Argentine club Velez Sarsfield.
