Portsmouth have revealed that captain Dejan Stefanovic is back in full training.
The Serb stopper has not played since November and has been a big miss for Harry Redknapp.
However, his knee problem is progressing well and he should be involved again early next month.
"Dejan's running outside," said Pompey physio Gary Sadler.
"There's still some discomfort in his knee but being Dejan he wants to push on. He could potentially be a couple of weeks away if we push him on."
Noe Pamarot is also making a somewhat miraculous recovery from a torn groin muscle and he could be in contention to face Manchester United in the FA Cup on Sunday.
"Noe is doing really well. He's been running and there has been no reaction, and now he's stepping up the tempo."
Meanwhile, Portsmouth are reported to have taken Nigerian starlet Chinedu Ogbuke on trial with a view to sealing a deal.
Wigan have been looking at the 20-year-old, but the Lyn Oslo striker is now said to be on the South Coast trying to impress Redknapp.
Initial reports suggest Redknapp is impressed and he is now looking to broker a deal for the player, who has been watched by the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Barcelona in recent months.
