Emana waiting for Pompey offer

Toulouse midfielder Achille Emana is aware of continued interest from Portsmouth.

Toulouse midfielder Achille Emana has told skysports.com that he is aware of continued interest from Portsmouth.

Emana was strongly tipped to make the switch to Fratton Park in the summer but the deal stalled due to problems over a work permit for the African ace.

The 24-year-old penned a contract extension in September that appeared to put an end to any possibility of him moving to the Premiership.

However, Emana says he remains a target for Harry Redknapp and would be confident a switch to the South Coast could be completed this time.

"I know Portsmouth still follow me but I have not been in contact with them," Emana told skysports.com.

"It is a pleasure to know that such a team are interested in me.

"I try not to be focused on that because I haven't received any news.

"My work permit won't be a problem by June, because I am sure I will obtain my papers."

Emana insists he is fully committed to helping Toulouse challenge towards the top of Ligue 1 but says he would consider a move away.

"I try to stay motivated with Toulouse, even if I am open to offers, because I am obliged to play my game," he said.

"If I receive offers from other teams, I will study it. Portsmouth would be a very good destination."

Meanwhile, Emana has praised the impact made by Johan Elmander at Toulouse this season.

The Swedish international striker has emerged as a target for Barcelona after an impressive start to the campaign.

"I am very happy for him because he is a very nice guy," Emana added. "It is a pleasure to play with such a good striker.

"He deserves to be watched by great teams because he brings a lot."
