Lorient striker Pierre-Andre Gignac has revealed that Portsmouth could be on the hunt for his signature.
The 21-year-old Frenchman has made no secret of his desire to move to The Premiership, and earlier this week described his dream of one day playing for Manchester United.
His agent is also exploring other options, and Gignac admits that Portsmouth would be an interesting offer to look at.
"My agent has talked to me about Portsmouth, and it could be an attractive challenge," he said.
"It shows that my work is regarded, but last summer I signed a new three-year deal with Lorient."
A move to England would appear to be a more long-term plan, as Gignac is also keen to make his mark in his homeland.
"I will go on working like mad to help this club remain in Ligue 1," he explained.
"And then at the end of the season, or even later, we will see. I am in no rush.
"The club sees me as a player for the future.
"Maybe my agent has had contact with French teams but I don't know anything about that.
"I like England, but I could stay at Lorient.
"However, if a French club also showed interest, that would be difficult to refuse."
