Sylvain Distin's agent has revealed talks are on-going about a new deal at Manchester City.
The Frenchman has been locked in negotiations with City for some time as the club look to tie him down to a new long-term contract.
Distin has just one year left on his existing deal at Eastlands.
Portsmouth and Middlesbrough are both thought to be watching developments at City and could be ready to swoop for the former Newcastle man.
Distin's representative Dave Lockwood admitted City were still in talks with the player about reaching an accord.
"We are still in talks with Manchester City," Lockwood told skysports.com.
"Sylvain still has one year to run on his contract."
City will be hoping to agree a deal with the influential defender before the start of the new season.
