Nicolas Anelka has appeared to rule out any possibility of joining Portsmouth.
Nicolas Anelka has appeared to rule out any possibility of joining Portsmouth as part of Harry Redknapp's spending spree.
Pompey have already set up deals for Achille Emana and Olivier Thomert and Redknapp is also chasing Anelka, who is currently with Fenerbahce in Turkey.
The former Manchester City hit-man refused to deny contact with the South Coast club but offered a lukewarm response to the interest.
"I can't see myself at Portsmouth at the moment," he told L'Equipe.
"I notice they are reinforcing their team but I'll take my time to decide my future."
There is better news on another front as Lens have accepted a bid for Thomert and the 26-year-old striker is discussing a four-year contract with an official announcement expected soon. Emana is also on his way from Toulouse for é¼3.5 million (£2.38 million).
Sochaux stopper Souleymane Diawara is another of Redknapp's targets with French sources claiming a é¼6 million (£4 million) offer has been tabled for the defender.
