Cameroon international Achille Emana has denied reports which suggested he had signed a deal with Portsmouth.
Pompey boss Harry Redknapp is likely to spend big this summer and has admitted an interest in the Toulouse man.
It had been claimed that a deal had already been struck, but Emana has told skysports.com he is still waiting to learn where he will be playing next term - with Rennes also in the frame for his signature.
"I am still in Toulouse," Emana told skysports.com.
"People say I have signed with Pompey, but it is false.
"If I had signed, I would not be here, I would be looking for a house in England."
Emana is aware of the interest from Rennes, but has not spoken to the club.
"Rennes have directly contacted Toulouse, not me," he added.
"I just want to play, it is essential for me.
"I don't chose, I can only wait."
