Real Zaragoza have struck a deal with Wolfsburg for Andres D'Alessandro.
The Spanish outfit have agreed a season-long loan deal with an option for a permanent deal at the end of that.
The 25-year-old has snubbed a return to Portsmouth, where he spent the latter part of last season on loan, in order to complete a move to Spain.
D'Alessandro, who has taken over the number 10 shirt from departed Brazilian Savio, revealed it was always one of his dreams to play in La Liga after completing his Zaragoza switch.
"When you start your football career you have various dreams and one of mine was to play in the Spanish league, which is the best," explained the new signing.
Pompey boss Harry Redknapp harboured hopes of luring D'Alessandro back to the South Coast - but the player has decided his future is best served in La Liga.
"We are happy to have reached an agreement with such a well-known club as Zaragoza," said Wolfsburg business manager Klaus Fuchs.
