Portsmouth defender Gregory Vignal is not about to join French Ligue 1 side Lyon, according to the player's agent.
Lyon manager Gerard Houllier is familiar with the defender after their time together at Liverpool, and it was thought the Frenchman would move for Vignal during the January transfer window to solve the club's injury crisis.
Now rumours in the French press suggest Vignal may be moving to his homeland on a free transfer in the summer.
"During the January transfer window, Gregory could have joined Lyon," Vignal's agent, Phillipe Flavier told skysports.com.
"We talked about it briefly. But there has been no recent contact with Lyon."
Vignal has made 16 appearances for Pompey this season as they battle to avoid the drop.
