Sander Westerveld has revealed he plans to leave Portsmouth in the summer to return to Spain.

The former Liverpool custodian has struggled to establish himself at Fratton Park since his arrival from Real Sociedad last summer.

Westerveld has made just seven appearances this term and the recent arrival of Dean Kiely has pushed him further into the shadows at Portsmouth.

The Dutchman has now set his sights on a move back to Spain at the end of the season.

"I have a few options but I am not going to leave the club now," Westerveld told El Diario Vasco.

"There are three months left to play and in order for me to leave, a good offer would have to come my way.

"I want to stay here and keep myself in the best possible shape, training well in order to find a team in the summer.

"I have already asked my agent to find me a team in Spain."
