Keeper exits Pompey

Greek keeper Konstantinos Chalkias has left Portsmouth by mutual consent.

Greek keeper Konstantinos Chalkias has left Portsmouth by mutual consent.

The South Coast outfit previously stated that they made a mistake signing the former Panathinaikos man, who arrived on Velimir Zajec's recommendation.

Pompey have been looking for a buyer for Chalkias but, with little interest in the 31-year-old, have opted to put an end to his unsuccessful stay at Fratton Park.

Chalkias, who joined just under a year ago, made only six appearances during his time with the club.

Harry Redknapp is unlikely to bolster his options in the wake of Chalkias' departure with Jamie Ashdown, Sander Westerveld and Andrea Guatelli all at his disposal.
